The Victoria Conservatory of Music Guitar Series, venues located at the Wood Recital Hall and the Alix Goolden Performance Hall, is a high level classical guitar series presenting some of the most talented and famed guitarists from around the world. The Victoria Conservatory of Music and renown guitarist Alexander Dunn present this annual series and important contribution to the Victoria arts community.

Martha MastersFriday, October 16th, 7:30pm “Poise, maturity and clean technique… Masters put her ample dexterity to good use… Her control of instrumental color was exemplary.” San Antonio Express-News In October of 2000 Martha won first prize in the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) International Solo Competition, including a recording contract with Naxos, a concert video with Mel Bay , and an extensive North American concert tour. In November of 2000, she also won the Andrés Segovia International Guitar Competition in Linares , Spain and was a finalist in the Alexandre Tansman International Competition of Musical Personalities in Lodz , Poland . Prior to 2000, Martha was a prizewinner or finalist in numerous other international competitions, including the 1999 International Guitar Competition “Paco Santiago Marín” in Granada , Spain , the 1998 Tokyo International Guitar Competition and the 1997 GFA International Solo Competition. One of the busiest performers and teachers in the US, Martha makes her first visit to Victoria. Masterclass details to be announced. Masterclass – Thursday, Oct. 15, 6-9pm.

Gabriel BiancoFriday, March 19th, 7:30pm Winner of the prestigious Guitar Foundation of America International Competition (2009), Gabriel Bianco is regarded as one of the most outstanding young players on the international stage.
Gabriel Bianco started playing the guitar at 5 with his father. In 1997 he entered the CNR-CSP of Paris. He went through it in 2005 with an unanimously first prize and congratulations. The same year, he received the highest rank in the entrance competition to the Superior National Conservatory in Paris. Gabriel Bianco has taken 1st Prize at International Guitar Competitions in Sernachelle, Ile de Ré, Wien, Tychy, and Koblenz.
